Avoriaz is at the heart of the 14 resorts of the Portes du Soleil ski area and is a car-free resort for unforgettable holidays.
The resort opened in 1966 and surprises with its unusual architecture.
The streets of the resort are pedestrian only and you will get around on foot or with horse-drawn sleighs. Avoriaz is at the centre of the Portes du Soleil ski area and you can use your skis or snowboard across the whole resort.
The Avoriaz ski area is composed of the areas of Arare, Lindarets, Chavanette, Plateau, Intrêts, Prodains and Super Morzine. It offers 51 slopes (6 black, 14 red, 26 blue and 5 green) and 39 sli lifts.
The Pas de Chavanette and Mossette link Avoriaz with the Swiss slopes.
Avoriaz is open every summer from the end of June to the end of August. Golf, mountain biking, trampoline, archery, via ferrata, squash, and hiking are some of the numerous things to do.
